Laura is a certified Spencer Pilates and Sports Yoga Instructor. Sports Yoga founded by
Dr. Ellis of the National Endurance Sports Trainers Association, is a fusion of several Hatha Yoga
styles with Pilates and Isometric Muscle Toning.
Combining both Yoga and Pilates into every class improves muscle tone, coordination
and balance, improves body awareness, creates a stronger mental focus, reduces stress, and
increases flexibility.
The classes are designed to be the perfect balance of a stretching, strengthening, and relaxation.
The class starts with sun salutations to warm up the body. Next, we practice yoga standing poses to
improve balance, strength and coordination followed by seated poses to stretch the spine, improve
flexibility, and massage the internal organs.
Each class also includes some Pilates strengthening for
abs, buns, legs, and arms of steel.
The class ends with a peaceful guided relaxation. After you leave the class, your
muscles will feel pleasantly tired and well stretched which leads to the great relaxed and
energized feeling associated with yoga.
